About the course

The primary delivery method for this part of the course will be a series of 11 short (approx. 20-30 minutes each) online video lectures delivered by Dr. Graham Burns and Dr. Mark Singleton. Some of the video lectures are followed by a short online quiz. You may watch each video as many times as you like – and are strongly encouraged to watch them more than once!

Reinforce your learning with assessment

You will have two history and philosophy assessments during the course. The first will, broadly, cover the period up to (and including) the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali; the second will chiefly cover the period after the Yoga Sūtras. These assessments will each take the form of (a) a series of multiple choice questions; (b) three 250 to 350 word answers; (c) one 750 to 1000 word answer. These assessments will also cover material from the course modules on the Yoga Sūtras, the Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā, and the Bhagavad Gītā.
