Subtle, deep, and aware
In the context of this course title, the term ‘advanced’ is used to describe the study of yoga that is subtle, deep, and aware. The course is respectful of and informed by yoga traditions, but it is not tradition-bound. Therefore, the course is taught with an emphasis on principles and skills that are widely applicable. This serves the purpose of being useful across traditions, and also moves the teaching away from a rules-based ‘right/wrong’ approach and into the realm of exploration and application.
This course has at its heart a focus on the living tradition of yoga.
It blends a philosophic view of yoga as a state of being with a contemporary scientific perspective, to form an integrated approach to the advanced study of yoga. It is designed to help students create a blueprint onto which they map their learning onto their existing learning and experience. Additionally, a central component of the curriculum is dedicated to expanding the potential professional options for yoga teachers.
